Quality Assurance for DCF data (STECF-17-11) ArchiMer
Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF).
The STECF Expert Working Group (EWG) 17-04 met in the ICES premises in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 3 to 7 July 2017 to agree on common and adequate quality indicators for all sets of data collected under the DCF (biological, socio-economic, transversal). The 2013 Annual Economic Report on the EU Fishing Fleet (STECF 13-15) ArchiMer

The 2013 Annual Economic Report (AER) on the European Union (EU) fishing fleet provides a comprehensive overview of the latest information available on the structure and economic performance of EU Member States fishing fleets. The Results on the economic performance indicate that the EU fishing fleet was again in profitable in 2011, with 6% of income being retained as net profit. On the whole, the EU fleet showed improvements in most of the main economic performance indicators analysed when compared to 2010. Yet, in view of the uncertain economic climate and rising fuel prices, the economic performance of the EU fleet in the near future is unclear. The 2014 Annual Economic Report on the EU Fishing Fleet (STECF14-16) ArchiMer

The   2014  Annual   Economic   Report   (AER)  on  the   European   Union  (EU)   fishing   fleet   provides  a  comprehensive  overview   of  the   latest   information   available   on  the   structure   and   economic   performance  of   EU  Member  States   fishing   fleets.   The  results   show  that   although   revenue  (income  from   seafood  sales   plus   other  income   from   non ‐fishing   activities)   generated by   the   fleet   decreased  compared  to   2011,  costs  decreased  even   more,  making   the   EU  fishing   fleet   generally   profitable  and   more  so   than   in    2011.  The   decrease   in   revenue  is   consistent  with   a  decrease   in   the   total   weight   and   value  of   seafood landed   by   the   EU ...

The 2016 Annual Economic Report on the EU Fishing Fleet (STECF16-11) ArchiMer
Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF).
In 2014, the EU fishing fleet numbered 81 500 vessels with a combined gross tonnage (GT) of 1.6 million tonnes and engine power of 6.4 million kilowatts (kW). EU fleet capacity has continued to decrease steadily, at an average annual rate of 2% in terms of vessel numbers and engine power (kW) and 3% in terms of gross tonnage (GT). Based on data submitted by Member States under the Data Collection Framework (DCF), there were 63 642 active vessels and 17 860 inactive vessels in 2014. Of the active vessels, 74% were classed as small-scale, 26% large-scale and remaining less than 1%, distant-water vessels.
